Sculpt, Newry City Fitness Centre, is owned and managed by friends and business partners Geraldine McAleenan and Geraldine Kilcoyne who together have over twenty years experience in the fitness industry.  

Geraldine Mc Aleenan

Geraldine McAleenan is a natural athlete having gained a number of sporting accolades through her involvement with Burke Athletic club including All-Ireland and Ulster Champion in 100m 4*100m relay and long-jump. A graduate of Community Sports Studies, Geraldine first worked with Newry & Mourne District Council as a fitness trainer and later established her own personal training and studio classes on a freelance basis.

Geraldine has a wealth of expertise in the sporting arena and has since taken on Les Mills programmes and is a qualified instructorin body-step, body attack, body-pump, rpm and body combat as well as the exclusive Sculpt class.

She has just achieved one of her ambitions to become a post natal exercise specialist following the birth of her first baby, Joe. Sculpt will be the only fitness centre in Ireland to offer a range of post natal classes. 

 

Geraldine Kilcoyne

Geraldine KilcoyneMother of two Geraldine Kilcoyne was bitten by the exercise bug after shedding excess post natal weight and it was a natural progression into teaching fitness and weight management.

After qualifying as an instructor she starting teaching class activities immediately and continued to develop her skills and qualifications to become a personal trainer and weight management specialist.

Having achieved her basic RSA Exercise to Music requirement, Geraldine then went on to further her qualifications and consequently is now a fully qualified instructor in the Les Mills Programmes BodyStep, BodyAttack, BodyPump, BodyCombat, BodyBalance and the exclusive Body Sculpt.

Geraldine's fascination and interest in the diet and lifestyle aspect of sport encouraged her to continue study in this area and as a result she is now a specialist in Weight Loss and Weight Management.  Geraldine uses this knowledge with her personal Clients so that she can ensure that they not only get fit but also that they are fully educated in Healthy Living.

Geraldine has recently added pre and post natal specialist to her long list of qualifications and takes both Pushy Mothers and one to one personal training within this area.

 

 

 PJ McKay

PJ is a former Ulster and All Ireland Champion Boxer in 1990 and two years ago joined the Newry Wheelers. Last year following only two years in the team he won the Newry Wheelers league.

PJ is well known for his enthusiasm and dedication to all areas of sport in particular cycling and therefore as a result has recently taken up the role as RPM instructor.  

 

Lindsey Hughes

A sports enthusiast, Lindsey has played gealic and netball from a young age and developed a keen interest in Les Mills classes from attending Body Attack and Body Pump on a regualr basis.

It was from these classes that Lindsey decided to take her interests to the next level by achieving her RSA exercise to music qualification.  She has 1 and a half years experience in the industry and is now a fully qualified instructor in BodyAttack, BodyBalance, BodyPump, BodyStep and the exclusive BodySculpt.

 

 Seán Lynch

Seán is the General manager of Sculpt NC. Seán has completed his level II Gym Instruction and is currently undertaking the personal training component of the course. He is fanatical about the nutrition aspect of sports and has a very strong interest in strength training and bodybuilding in particular.

 
     
 

Claire Murphy

Claire has returned to the Sculpt fold after taking time off to successfully pursue further studies. Although young, Claire is a veteran Body pump, RPM and Body attack instructor. In each class her personality and love of her work shines through every track.
